Runway and Tower Information:

BHM is a full-service international airport offering scheduled, nonstop passenger and cargo service. BHM accommodates most modern air carriers, cargo, general aviation and military aircraft. BHM is equipped with two runways, Runway 6/24, RDC D-V and Runway 18/36, RDC D-IV.

Pavement Condition/Classification: Runway 6/24 is designed to accommodate a 175,000-pound single wheel load, a 205,000-pound dual wheel load, a 350,000-pound dual tandem wheel load.

Runway 18

  • Non-precision approach
  • 7,099 feet in length
  • 150 feet wide

Runway 36

  • Visual Approach
  • 7,099 feet in length
  • 150 feet wide

 

Pavement Condition/Classification: Runway 18/36 is designed to accommodate a 75,000-pound single wheel load, a 170,000-pound dual wheel load, and a 240,000-pound dual tandem wheel load.

Air Traffic Control Tower

  • Operated by FAA, 24 hours daily
  • 211 feet tall (20 stories)

Fixed Based Operators

There are two Fixed Based Operators (FBO’s) operating at BHM: ATLANTIC AVIATION and MILLION AIR.

When requesting parking with ATC, please identify the MILLION AIR RAMP (East Ramp) or ATLANTIC AVIATION RAMP (West Ramp). The East ramp is located at the east end of Taxiway N. The West ramp is located at the SW end of Taxiway H.
